DULARGE: You can get a free physical
A minicamp for girls 5-10 sponsored by Houma Junior High School’s Sweethearts is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Tuesday through July 21 at the school’s gym, 315 St. Charles St., Houma. For information, call the school at 872-1511.
A free athletic physical clinic is scheduled for July 23 at Terrebonne High School’s field house, 7318 Main St., Houma. The schedule is students of Terrebonne and Vandebilt Catholic high schools and all their feeder schools, 9-9:30 a.m.; students of South Terrebonne High School and its feeder schools, 9:30-10 a.m.; students from H.L. Bourgeois High School, Houma Christian School and their feeder schools, 10-10:30 a.m.; and students for Ellender Memorial High School and its feeder schools, and Covenant Christian Academy, 10:30-11 a.m.
Athletes should be reminded that they are attending a school function and all Terrebonne Parish School Board rules are to be upheld. Students that drive will not be allowed to attend a physical without the company of a coach, parent or moderator. Security officers will be on duty. Once finished, students will be required to leave school grounds.
Terrebonne High School’s orientation for new students and sophomores is scheduled at 9 a.m. July 29 in the Student Circle, 7318 Main St., Houma.
Terrebonne High School’s parking permits will go on sale starting July 29 and continue through Aug. 5 for the 2011-12 school year. Permits can be purchased in the school’s main office. For information, call 879-3377.
Recreation center: The Dularge Recreation Center, 1330 Dr. Beatrous Road, is open from 4 to 8 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays. For information, call 879-4340.
Mom and tots swimming lessons are offered Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost is $20 per child.
Ladies water aerobics is offered from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Cost is $20 per person.
The Dularge Recreation Center’s pool is open to the public from 4 to 8 p.m. Mondays and Wednesdays and from 2 to 6 p.m. Sundays. Admission is $2 per person.

Dularge Recreation Center employees have fixed the baseball field behind Dularge Elementary School, 1327 Bayou Dularge Road, Theriot. The field is available for public use.

My little Rosamund is growing. For some reason, with this baby, I’m very much aware of how fast this season slips away. I’m tearing up as I type this – quick, somebody mention the weather! Anyway, Rosamund was a surprise baby after a long discussion that we were very happy with our two children. We were STUPID! Rosamund is the absolute most wonderful gift any and all of us could’ve ever received … we are all grateful for her … and for her smiles in the morning!
Anyway…to the reason I sat down to post…what to do with a bored baby. Where was I?
My little Rosamund is growing. She is growing and she is getting bored! Because we got rid of all things baby about 3 months before I found out I was pregnant, we have nothing for her to “do.” No cool toys dangle over her while she lays on the floor, no rattles, no shiny things. You get my point. Poor little three-month-old has nothing to do.
So what do I do?
I make her something! I decided to start with something to dangle from her carseat. (Confession: I’m not a homebody! Rosamund spends a lot of time in her carseat … but I’m convinced she loves it!)
These are really very simple to do, and I think they look awesome! (is that bragging? I hope not!)… The neat thing about these is that they can do all sorts of things – hand from a carseat, serve as a rattle, hand from a doorknob to welcome those who enter, serve as a sachet if filled with lavender, hang from a bath towel in the guest bath, a pincushion, etc, etc, etc. I can’t wait to make more – I think I’ll make different shapes next time. I’m not typically a heart person…but these were for Rosamund whom I heart!
Baby down napping and now...to sew or to relax? I'll have more free time after she goes to bed tonight, so I might just veg ;) 
can I borrow a few? Wanna stop procrastinating and learn a new language. God knows I can't sew a dress now so yea. HAHAHA
