VIA Studio Celebrates 15th Anniversary

If over 50% of businesses fail within the first five years, then VIA Internet Studio has exceeded expectations by reaching an historic 15 year milestone. Founded by veteran ad executive Kelly McKnight in 1996 - a year that marked the beginning of what is known as the dot.com bubble. In the midst of internet start-ups and failures, McKnight used his advertising know-how and translated that into a company that has grown into the premier web development and interactive ad agency in the region.

“Sometimes I feel like the last man standing,” said McKnight, who is currently VIA’s CEO. “From when VIA started, I don’t believe any of my competitors are still around. I think we prospered for a lot of reasons but the main one is VIA has always designed and built websites with a marketing focus. What makes us unique is that both my partner and I come from advertising backgrounds so we are well grounded in branding and traditional media. With VIA, we took this knowledge and applied it to a new media. We quickly learned that to be successful, we had to talk to a target audience...not at them. Purchasers don’t want a sales pitch anymore, they want information to make an informed decision, so that’s what we do. We make it fast and easy for the target audience to find our client’s websites and get the information they need to purchase. How do we do this? Well, that’s where the magic comes in.”

Jason Clark joined VIA in 2003 and the agency quickly began to grow. Today he’s president and a partner. “Since joining VIA, we have seen tremendous growth and success.
