Registration set for library programs in Abington

Registration is ongoing for “The Adventures of Mr. Toad,” to be presented by the Hampstead Stage Company on Wednesday at 11 a.m.
This play invites the audience to join the irrepressible Mr. Toad and his friends as they set off on an adventure across the English countryside.
Space is available for 75 participants age 5 and older.
Registration will begin will Wednesday for Hugh Hanley’s “Circle of Songs” Concert, to be held July 21 at 11 a.m.
Families with children age 6 and younger will enjoy this program, which includes original and familiar songs, rhymes and audience participation. Space is available for 75 participants.
Registration will begin on July 21 for “World Tales,” a program to be held July 28 at 11 a.m. Tim Jennings and Leanne Ponder will tell world tales and play traditional music on Celtic harp and concertina. The couple will present solo and duo treatments of traditional folktales. Children ages 5 and older will most enjoy these tales, and space is available for 75 participants.
Story time programs for preschoolers and toddlers are ongoing at the library through Aug. 3. Bedtime Story Hour continues on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. through Aug. 2 for kids ages 4 to 7; 3-year-olds who can successfully separate from a parent/caregiver for the duration of the program are also welcome. Children are urged to wear pajamas and bring a favorite stuffed animal or doll. Registration is not necessary; space is available for up to 35 Abington children on a first to arrive basis.
Toddler Time, a lapsit story program for infants and toddlers accompanied by a parent/caregiver will be held Wednesday mornings July 16, July 20, July 27 and Aug. 3 at 10:30 a.m. Space is available for 15 Abington children from age 3 or younger at each session. Children ages 3-5 who are comfortable separating from their caregiver can attend Drop-In Story hour on selected Mondays at 11 a.m.; the program will be offered July 11, July 18, July 25 and Aug. 1. A total of 24 children may participate in each session.
The Teen Advisory Board of the Abington Public Library is sponsoring family movies at the library at 2 p.m. on Thursday and Aug. 3. The program is suggested for family audiences; movies shown will be rated G or PG. Participants must contact the library directly in order to obtain the name of the movie.
Registration is also ongoing for “One World, Many Stories,” the 2011 summer reading program. Participants earn tokens for every hour spent reading. At the end of the summer the Friends of the Library will fund animal sponsorships based on the number of tokens earned.
