Tactical Watch Technology (TAWATEC) E.O. Diver Ultra-Bright, Ultra-Rugged ...

As impressed as we are with this product, Defense Review would like to get a TAWATEC E.O. Diver into the hands of one of our U.S. Military Special Operations contributors/writers or contacts and let them run it downrange for awhile to get an assaulter/operator’s perspective. Movement: Swiss Made Quartz Movement TaWaTec is the latest in tactical watch technology from Biel / Bienne Switzerland. Over the past few years this watch has been tested and optimized by numerous special operations groups from all over the world. Their requirements for a large but light-weight and comfortable watch were manifested in the TaWaTec E.O.Diver.

The new impact resistant case design with H3 trigalight tritium illumination guarantees readability of time in every condition from daytime to total darkness. The “octil stencil” font used on the dial is the font of choice when ease of readability is critical. The watch crown at the “4″ o’clock position on the E.O.Diver allows for unencumbered range of motion of the wrist while wearing the watch with or without gloves. In addition, O.E. Diver cases are made from poly reinforced carbon fiber making them very light-weight and very tough. Finally, Swiss Ronda high-torque movement means that not only can the watch take a licking but it will also keep excellent time while the new K1 ultra-hardened mineral crystal ensures that you’ll be able to see the time clearly when you need to.

This is the next evolution of tactical watch technology.

What makes this watch better than other tritium tactical watches? In short, attention to detail. The fit and finish, the build quality of this watch are top grade. The use of a stronger case back for instance and higher quality mineral crystal. Unlike some other tritium watches on the market which use normal grade quartz movements, TAWATEC uses a Swiss Ronda movement with a high-torque stepper motor. This ensures that the movement can easily handle the extra load and is operating free of stress. Not only does this make for a tougher watch but it also means that the battery isn’t being constantly drained just to support the more robust tritium hands. The case was designed around the movement in order to ensure proper fit and water resistance.

Gosh! The universe of fonts.. There’s so much to discover and to learn. I haven’t ‘taken the plunge’ just yet and I’m even considering if it’s worth it. This of this blog. Think of how much knowledge there is behind every little detail about fonts – I can’t see myself learning enough to keep up with guys and blogs like this. I think I’ll just lay back and relax :D.
