Mountain Home, Arkansas Art Odyssey Studio Tour Locations Katherine is a world-traveler who has claimed our area as “home” since 1999. She is a self-taught artist who refers to her custom beadwork as “Sacred Creations.” From her seedbeaded findings that surround the focal stone (usually semi-precious) in her jewelry designs to the intricate weavings on her raw-leather purses, there is an obvious Native American influence. In addition, her paintings have an organic quality whether on canvas, board, or conk (a type of tree fungus). R. Scott and Neilla are retired educators and self-taught artists. They work t ogether creating mosaics and are best known locally for the mosaic river at the DWR library. Their joint and individual mosaic creations consist of kinetic outdoor art, framed pieces, sculptural items and more. R. Scott also creates folk art, furniture, and birds, working in metal, wood, paint, and found-objects. Neilla works with found-objects, art glass, beads, and driftwood. A visit to their studio and adjacent home and outdoor rooms gives a taste of their often whimsical style. Email:   george@ggphotography.com

Art: George and Gloria travel across the country photographing nature, wildlife, and landscapes, but specialize in local Arkansas scenery. They offer these photos custom framed in unique ways as well as on items from T-shirts to magnets. They opened their gallery 9 years ago and took the business to their website 4 years later. Several area stores offer their work for sale.

Directions: George and Gloria live in Cotter but for the tour they will be showing their work at Judicious Spirits in Mountain Home which is located on 62/412, approximately 1 mile west of the traffic light at the west end of 62B/62(bypass).

 

Michelle is the owner of Wade Street Marketplace where she also has her private working studio. She is a fiber artist who creates unique functional art such as bags of all sizes, often incorporating quilting and beading and many other delightful surprises. Michelle also works with paper and creates amazingly-intricate pieced-paper wall art.
