Jensen selected as FG Grand Marshal
FOUNTAIN GREEN-- Once again the cream of the crop was selected to be this year's Fountain Green Grand Marshal. A most deserving, Terry Jensen, a humble, hard working, Dutch oven chef extraordinaire, will carry the title for 2011.
Terry Jensen is the son of Perry Jensen, Moroni; and the late Thora Jensen, and has been a resident of Fountain Green ever since he married his sweetheart, Lucille Wilson Jensen in March 1986, and became a big part of her family and of Fountain Green.
Terry and Lucille did a lot together through work and play, such as working in the cafe, working together for six years as EMTs for the Ambulance Association, planning family reunions, holiday fun, and just spending time together.
They did a lot of catering together and Terry has kept that tradition going with his Dutch oven specialties. People who have had one of Terry's Dutch oven meals, have been well fed.
His Dutch oven collection ranges from a 22" Big Bertha that will feed a main course to 250 people, to a small pan that will feed one. He has 37 dutch ovens.
Terry also helped Lucille when she served on the Lamb Day Committee. He was always there in the background doing whatever was needed.
Terry made his living working with his dad and family on the family farm and raising turkeys. He has been a member of the Sanpete County Search and Rescue and Fountain Green Fire Department. He has been a Scout Leader for a number of years and is currently the Webelos Leader.
He has been a caregiver for different family members throughout his life, including his wife through her last years. Terry has always been one to be in the background but when things need doing he is always there to help.
Terry Jensen is a hard worker, always busy and people will never see him without his Stetson hat or his Levi Strauss jeans. He will always readily share a dutch oven dinner and stories of fun times from the past.
