California surf style washes up with new Irish store
CALIFORNIA surf style is coming to Ireland's shores.
Thousands of people from across the country are expected to flock to Dundrum Town Centre tomorrow as top US clothing chain Hollister opens.
And just like their stores across the Atlantic, customers will be greeted by hunky 'Dudes' and stylish 'Bettys'.
Hollister gave Irish customers a sneak peek at what's in store for them tomorrow, by having two of their 'Dudes' pose outside their new store.
Dressed in just their red shorts, flip flops and shades, top male models James Murphy and Mark Toal-Lennon show that they are a perfect fit for the Californian surfer look.
The popular US fashion chain is set to cause a frenzy as shoppers plan to queue for the opening from 7am.
The new 9,000 sqft store, which has a wide range of California beach fashion for men and women, is expecting hundreds of shoppers on their opening day.
"We are expecting a big turn out," a representative for the store told the Herald. "The Dundrum centre phone line and Facebook page have been hopping all month."
"People are travelling from all over the country, I know there are kids leaving Limerick from 5am to get here in time for the 9am opening. We envision queues from 7am."
Hollister is hugely popular in the US and the UK with lines of shorts, skirts, casual dresses, sculpted jeans and hoodies.
Newly crowned Miss Universe Ireland Aoife Hannon will start her job there as a sales assistant on Saturday, until she heads to Brazil in August to compete in the Miss Universe finals.
Sporty Aoife (19) says she is excited to begin working in the popular store.
"I saw it as a great opportunity, I love Hollister," she told the Herald.
She also revealed that the Dundrum fashion shop has already hired 250 people, including some male models.
Customers will be greeted at the Hollister store by four shirtless surfers this weekend.
"Male Irish models will be standing outside the store, they are shirtless surfers, and were a part of the hiring for the new store," a Hollister spokesman confirmed.
As well as Aoife, this year's Miss Universe runner up and Britain and Ireland's Next Top Model contestant Hannah Devane will also be working at Hollister.
And joining the two Irish beauties will be former contestants Lydia Bowers and Katie Slattery.
