Put a festive spin on summer by planning Christmas in July
If you are suffering from summer heat and ready for a cool idea, consider getting a head start on the holiday season now. As the sun blazes outside, everyone will enjoy the chance to share thoughts of wintertime joy and you'll thank yourself for taking care of holiday tasks now so that you can actually slow down and enjoy the season later.
Here are some suggestions for taking a proactive approach to the holiday rush now while enjoying a bit of that seasonal joy that shouldn't have to wait until December.
Shopping. Do you really want to deal with the holiday crowds as you search for the perfect Christmas gifts later in the year? Get a head start on the craziness by doing your shopping now. Browse novelty stores and you may find something perfect that will be unavailable later. A bit of shopping now will save you a bunch of stress later.
Wrapping. Maybe you already have some presents bought and hidden away for the upcoming holiday season. Pull out the leftover wrapping paper and go ahead and wrap them up now. You'll enjoy working with ribbons and bows indoors after a morning at the pool, and months from now you'll be glad you got some of that gift wrapping taken care of in advance. Just remember to attach a note that lets you know what's inside just in case you forget between now and December.
